Ryanair Hand Luggage Allowance: The Good News

Ryanair has a decent weight allowance of 10kg, making it the 10th most generous allowance of all airlines flying in and out of UK airports. British Airways, Air France, Arik Air, easyJet, Cityjet, KLM, Korean Air, Ukraine International Airlines and US Airways have more generous weight allowances for their hand luggage.

Ryanair Hand Luggage Allowance: The Bad News

Ryanair’s hand luggage size, although not restrictive is not overly generous, especially given the checked baggage charges of up to £140 per trip they introduced in 2013. So if you don’t want to pay the £140 per trip charge, then you will have to limit your hand luggage compared to other airlines such as British Airways and easyJet who both offer more space for their hand luggage. The biggest piece of bad news is the £60 fee for oversized hand luggage which from my experience they enforce – so don’t chance a slightly bigger bag
