KLM’s Hand Luggage Allowance – The Bad News
KLM’s hand luggage size allowance is 48th out of 131 airlines we researched, makign it average in terms of size. KLM’s allowance is smaller every other member of the Skyteam alliance in terms of overall hand luggage capacity, with only 41.8L. Even though it is smaller in terms of overall capacity than any other Skyteam partner airlines, it has at least one bigger dimension than Air Europa, Air France, Alitalia, Saudia, Tarom and Vietnam Airlines, which means you may have to pay a hand luggage surcharge if your KLM ticket is operated by one of these code share airlines. Additionally if your KLM flight is operated by Aeroflot, Aeromexico, Air Europa, Alitalia, China Southern, Kenya Airways, MEA, Saudia, Tarom or Vietnam Airlines you may have to pay a hand luggage surcharge if you fly on a KLM ticket as their hand luggage weight allowance is smaller than KLM’s 12kg.
